Chris Melville (Lead Vocals)

Chris Melville (vocals) is a classic jazz and soul singer who cites Stevie Wonder, Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald as his major influences. With his warm, velvet vocal delivery he sings jazz songs from an era of style and sophistication, an ideal soundtrack for weddings and corporate events. With 20 years of performance experience at weddings, corporate functions and cocktail parties, Chris has performed for a stellar client list worldwide. He can perform as a feature singer or as background music, and is highly versatile.

One of the most versatile guitarists in the country, Dixon‘s twenty two-year music career has seen him perform with top local and international jazz and pop musicians as a sideman and band leader, musical director and arranger. He has recorded three albums (2008, 2011 and 2013) with the Samsom Nacey Haines Trio, the first of which was a finalist in the 2009 Jazz Tui of The Year Award.

He also leads The John Scofield Project, plays jazz with The Alan Brown Trio, rock-reggae with dDub, and Latin music with Santiago Soul Stars. He has recently been through USA, Australia, Canada, New Caledonia, Singapore, Fiji, the Cook Islands and Thailand with his music.

Dixon currently teaches jazz at Auckland, Massey and Canterbury Universities. As a music teacher he has also built a large following through his YouTube channel ( which led to the development and launch of what has become a very successful video tutorial-based jazz guitar website:
